Results of the municipal elections on Menorca

Maó

In spite of having lost the absolute majority, the candidature of the PSIB-PSOE, led by the present mayor, Arturo Bagur, will continue to be the first political force in Maó, after having obtained 10 councillors. As for the Partido Popular led by Juan Manuel Lafuente, they obtained 8 councillors. The other two candidatures that have gained representation on the Mao council are the PSM-Entesa Nacionalista, led by Bartomeu Febrer, who obtained two councillors, and Esquerra de Menorca-Esquerra Unida, led by Mateu Llabrés, who obtained one councillor.

Ciutadella

The candidature of the Partido Popular, led by Llorenç Brondo, with 10 councillors is the winner of the municipal elections. The other candidatures that have obtained representation are the PSIB-PSOE, led by Joan Gorrias, with 6 councillors, the PSM-Entesa Nacionalista, led by Joan Bosco Gomila, with two councillors; the Partit Menorquí (PMQ), that has 1 councillor for Lorenzo Casasnovas; and the Unió Centristes of Menorca (UCM), who also obtain a seat for Pau Lluch, who until now was the Mayor of the city.

Alaior

In spite of having lost the absolute majority, the candidature of the PSIB-PSOE, led by the present mayor, Antoni Gómez Arbona, continues to be the first political force in Alaior with 6 councillors and 45,25% of the votes. The candidature of the Partido Popular has consolidated its position and has also obtained 6 councillors with 41,89% of the votes. The representation on the Council is completed by Josep Portella, candidate of  Esquerra de Menorca-Esquerra Unida, who has obtained 8.64 % of the votes and will probably enter to form the government of the Council to assure the majority of the PSIB-PSOE.

Es Castell

The candidature of the PSIB-PSOE, led by Irene Colle, with 37.31 % of the votes and 5 councillors is the first political force of the municipality.  The candidature of the Partido Popular, led by Juan Cabrera, obtains a 31.52% of the votes and 5 councillors and will continue in the opposition.  The other three candidates that have obtained representation on the Council, are the  PSM-Entesa Nacionalista, the Esquerra de Menorca-Esquerra Unida and Els Verd, each with 1 councillor, who will possibly enter to form part of the Council to give the absolute majority with PSIB-PSOE.

Es Mercadal

The candidature Acord de Es Mercadal i Fornells, led by the present mayor, Ramon Orfila (PSM), with six councillors has won the municipal elections and will be able to continue governing with absolute majority.  The other three candidatures that have obtained representation are the Partido Popular with 2 councillors, theUnió de sa Costa Nord (UCN) also with 2 councillors, and the candidature of UPM-PMQ with 1 councillor.
 

Es Migjorn Gran

The candidature of the PSIB-PSOE, led by the present mayor, Pere Riudavets, with 45.41 % votes and 4 councillors, will continue to govern the municipality.  The candidature of the Partido Popular stays in second place with 36.61% of the votes and 4 councillors. The candidature Alternativa per es Migjorn (APMG) has also obtained representation with 9.44 % of the votes and one councillor.

Ferreries

The candidature of Unió Centristes de Menorca (UCM), led by Román Sintes, with 31,76 % of the votes and 4 councillors continues as the first political force of the municipality.  The candidature Entesa de l'Esquerra de Ferreries (ADEEF), led by Josep Carreras, is the second force with 26,98% of the votes and 3 councillors. In third place is the Partido Popular, led by Joana Rotger, with 25,42 % of the votes and 3 councillors. Finally the candidature  PSIB-PSOE, led by Enriqueta Camps, has obtained 13,71 % of the votes and 1 councillor.

Sant Lluís

The candidature of the PSIB-PSOE, led by Llorenç Carretero, with 5 councillors was the most voted. The other three candidatures that obtained representation are the Partido Popular with 4 councillors, PSM-Entesa Nacionalista with 1 councillor and Unió Centristes de Menorca (UCM) with 1 councillor.
