"Carmen Funebre": outdoor show about the war

Within the cycle "La primavera polonesa a les Illes Balears" promoted by the Fundació Balears 21, next Friday the Polish outdoor show "Carmen Funebre" by Teatr Biuro Podrozy will reach Ciutadella.

This super production, based on personal testimonies of victims of the Bosnian conflict, has been performed in 27 countries on four continents, telling symbolically the universal story of war and the human tragedy which inevitably accompanies it. Combining sinister masked figures on stilts, music and fire, it portrays scenes of rape and torture, robbery and humiliation.

The performance will begin at 9.00 p.m. outside the Cathedral. Two days before, on Friday 11, it will also be presented in Pollença (Mallorca).
