Es Grau celebrates its fiestas

The neighbours association of Es Grau, the small village in the district of Mao, situated within the Parc Natural de s'Albufera, has organised for the fiestas this year a varied programme that will start on Friday, July 19 at 10 p.m. with a play outside by the company "Set de Menorca" and the local group "Grauers amb molta marxa".

On Saturday July 20, at 4.30 p.m., the activities will continue with the start of the cycle race "XII Trofeu d'en Montero". This will follow at 5 p.m. with a treasure trail and cycling track, and at 6.30 p.m. a ludotheque for youngsters in the basketball field. The events on Saturday will end in the basketball field with a supper for the neighbours at 9 p.m., and a dance with a musical group as from 10.30 p.m.

On Sunday, July 21 at 11 a.m. sack races, at noon, Human Wheelbarrow races, and finally at 7 p.m. the children's football match between two teams from the town.

On Thursday, July 25, the last day of the festive programme, the events will start at 9 a.m. with the street parade by the band of "Cornetistes i Tamboriners de Dalt de Sant Joan" and the "Cap Grossos de Maó" and, amongst other activities, at 7 p.m. there will be entertainment by "Pinyeta Pinyol".
