The summer cultural programme "Estiu 2002 a Ferreries", organised by
the Town Council, began in the end of June. Up to today several activities
have already taken place, such as children's theatre, art exhibitions, cinema
and a choir concert, and the events pending are:
On July 27 at 9.30 p.m., in the square of the church,
open-air
cinema with the children's film in Catalan

Doraemon i les mil i una aventures.
On July 31, at 8.30 p.m., in the
Nature
Museum of Menorca, outside round table about shipwreck stories in the
Menorcan coast, by Alfonso Buenaventura.
On August 2, at 8 p.m., in the municipal exhibition hall, vernissage
of the painting exhibition by Josep Moncada Juaneda, winner of the "XXII
Premi de Pintura Sant Bartomeu 2001", and by Iván Jordà.
The exhibition can be visited on August 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11, from 8 to
10 p.m.
On August 4, at 8.30 p.m., in the Plaça d'Espanya, the folk meeting
"XIV Trobada de Ball" will take place with participation by the groups
Aires Sollerics and Es Penell
(
Femefolk).
On August 9, at 9 p.m., in the church of Sant Bartomeu, the concert
"II Memorial Lírico Nofre Janer", organised by Amics de sa Música.
Finally, on August 10, at 9 p.m., in the Plaça d'Espanya, the
musical show "Danses per la pau". This will be the last activity of the
programme, just before the beginning of the patron saint festivities for
Sant Bartomeu, from August 12 to 25.
On the other hand, every Saturday morning, also in the Plaça
d'Espanya, there is the artisan market
"Mercat
de Ferreries", animated by musical performances and regional dances
by the local groups Es Penell and Aires des Barranc d'Algendar.
