The Choir Illa de Menorca is preparing the comic opera
"L'Elisir
d'Amore" by
Donizetti
(1797-1848) that will be staged on July 6 and 7, at the Teatre Principal
in Maó.
For this production, the Coir Illa de Menorca will be accompanied by
the Symphonic Orchestra from Murcia and excellent singers such as the soprano
from Cantabria Montserrat Obeso, the Catalan baritone Álex Sanmartí
, the Menorcan bass Simon Orfila, the Menorcan soprano Mònica Camps
and the tenor Juan Lomba. The stage director is Nito Mercadal and the musical
director, Antoni Pons Morlà, who is also the conductor of the choir.
Moreover, the week before, on June 30, the Choir Illa de Menorca will
offer a lyric gala also at the Teatre Principal, performed by the same
singers that will interpret the opera, the pianist Rosa Goitia, and the
soloists of the Choir Illa de Menorca: the tenor José Maria Olives,
the baritone Paulino Maria, the soprano Loli Aznar and the soprano Martina
Garriga, who is also the teacher of the choir.
