2002 European Week

On the 9th of May 1950, Robert Schuman presented his proposal on the creation of an organised Europe, indispensable to the maintenance of peaceful relations.
This proposal, known as the "Schuman declaration", is considered to be the beginning of the creation of what is now the European Union.

The 9th of May has become Europe Day and it is commemorated with celebrations and activities around Europe.

Thus, the Centre Balears Europa has prepared a programme of activities called "Setmana Europea 2002" that will be held from May 7 to 10 on Mallorca, Menorca and Eivissa.
