Spring cultural fortnight at Es Migjorn Gran

The municipality of Es Migjorn Gran has been celebrating since April 19 the "Quinzena Cultural de Primavera 2002", organised by the area of culture of the Town Council in collaboration with numerous associations and entities of the town. The programme includes various social, cultural and sporting events that will last until May 1.

Amongst many interesting proposals, most outstanding is the annual meeting of Femfolk that will be held on Saturday, April 27 in the Church square, with the participation of all the folk groups of Menorca. It is also worth taking advantage of the exhibition and sale of books, with 25% discount, that will take place on May 1 in the same square.

The institutional event that will close the fortnight is the award of Illustrious Son of the Town, given to Sr. Camps i Mercadal, that will be given to his relations, and the title of Adopted Son to Sr. Ferrer Ginard. The ceremony that will be held at 6 p.m. on May 1 in the Council Meeting Room, will end with the unveiling of the painting of Mestre Andreu Ferrer.
