The Service of Cultural Activities of the Balearic University (UIB)
has programmed for this second academic term three courses of the Open
University that will be held on Menorca, specifically at the extension
of the UIB on the island, situated in Can Salort, calle Major 14, in Alaior.
The three courses are: "In the search for extraterrestrial life" by
Josep Miquel Vidal Hernández, scientific coordinator of the Institut
Menorquí d'Estudis; "History of the Balearics. Centuries XIII-XX",
by Miquel À. Casasnovas Camps, doctor in History and author of the
book Història de les Illes Balears; and "Sustainability in a local
community: the case of Menorca" by Sergi Marí of the Observatori
Socioambiental de Menorca.
