The
Orquestra
de Cambra Illa de Menorca will offer a barroque concert on Saturday,
February 16, at 8 p.m., at the Teatre Principal de Maó. The concert,
that will include works by Vivaldi, Corelli, Bach and Haendel, will have
the participation of the violoncellist Mark Petters.
The Orquestra de Cambra "Illa de Menorca", formed in 1998 by Joventuts
Musicals de Maó, groups the Menorcan musicians, living or not on
the island. Up to date the orchestra has realised eleven "stages" that
have produced some twenty concerts. Thanks to the technical and interpretative
quality of the musicians and to the baton of the conductor, Fernando Marina,
the Orquestra de Cambra "Illa de Menorca" has become the first stable orchestral
group on Menorca.
Moreover, on Sunday, February 17, at 6 p.m., the Teatre Principal will
hold the comical opera "Bastien und Bastienne" by W.A. Mozart, interpreted
by Opera Studio. This performance will also be presented at the Teatre
d'es Born, in Ciutadella, on Saturday 16, at 8 p.m.
