"Pastorells" and live nativity scenes in Menorca

The live nativity scenes and the theatre performances of "Els Pastorells", based on the story of the Birth of Christ, are the most outstanding traditional elements of Christmas in Menorca, presented in nearly all the towns of the island.

This year, in Maó, "Els Pastorells" will be represented once again by the Orfeón Mahonés, from December 22 to 26, at 7 p.m., at the Sala Multifuncional. Also in Maó and at the same time, but at the Parc d'es Freginal, there will be a live nativity scene by the Pessebristes de Menorca and the Escola de Sant Josep, on December 23, 26 and 30, and January 1. This activity has the collaboration from the Maó Town Council.

In Ciutadella the "Els Pastorells" will be represented by the Grup de Teatre de Sant Miquel in the Centre Catequístic de Sant Miquel on December 21 at 9.30, on the 22th at 7 p.m., on the 23th at 6 p.m., on the 26th at 6 p.m. on the 28th at 9.30 p.m. and on the 30th at 6 p.m.
