The
GOB has called for the
Ullastre and Enderrossall 2001 prizes and has opened the time lime that
ends on November 20, to collect possible candidates for the prizes, i.e.
those who have excelled respectively with their most favourable or least
favourable actions for the environment, during the year.
On Saturday, December 1, the annual dinner will be held when the proposed
candidates will be defended and a vote taken. The meeting will be
in el Toro, and the dinner, will be, as last year, of autochthonous products
and fare commerce.
During the ceremony the awards for the 2000 prizes will be given: the
Ullastre prize to the
Moviment de Renovació
Pedagògica de Menorca, for their long commitment with the environment
via education, and the Enderrosall prize, to the Minister of Environment,
Jaume Matas, for his insistence in installing a desalinisation plant in
Ciutadella and for not promoting a more rational use of water.
