The Xesc Forteza company will present the show "En tombar els cinquanta"
at the Teatre Principal in Maó, on October 19 and 20 at 10 p.m.
and on the 21st at 7 p.m.
The production, directed by Mateu Grau, is based on the work "The Prisoner
of Second Avenue" by Neil Simon, translated and adapted by Catalina Forteza
and Joan Bibiloni. A fifty year old bad-tempered hypochondriac who has
lost his job, and his patient wife are the centre of this amusing comedy.
Francesca Bover and Joan Bibiloni star in the play and Joan M. Melis, Maria
Reus, Lina Terrassa and Aina Segura complete the cast.
"En tombar es cinquanta" premiered at the
Teatre
Principal de Palma in 1999, being the first play of the company after
the death of its founder, Xesc Forteza. The show was a great success with
the public and the
critics, continuing the trajectory initiated by the
group 34 years ago.
"En tombar es cinquanta" and "Coses que passen", the last production
of the company, that premiered at the Teatre Principal de Palma in 2000,
have visited most of Mallorca, always with a very good response by the
public.
"En tombar es cinquanta" reaches Menorca with the support of the
Maó
City Council and the collaboration of the
Department
of Education and Culture of the Balearic Government.
