The Museum of Nature in Menorca is an information centre, explaining
the complexities of the natural landscape of the island, situated in Ferreries,
at the heart of Menorca, Reserve of the Biosphere. There are seasonal exhibitions
all year round, together with conferences, courses and various other projects,
to interest every type of audience. Autumn and winter exhibitions are mainly
geared towards school children and students; spring and summer they specifically
target the visiting tourist. So the Museum has something for everyone.
This summer the museum proposes the exhibition Where are the wetlands
in Menorca? The exhibition comprising texts, photographs, dioramas,
games... is dedicated to the ponds, the wetlands in general, and the fauna
and flora that live there. The exhibition can be visited until October
7, from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 13:00 h and from 18:00 to 21:00
h.
Meanwhile, in August, on 2, 9 and 16, the museum will hold the cycle
of talks in the fresh air, with the participation of Eduard Delgado, anthropologist;
Climent Gonyalons, boat owner and fisherman; and Antoni Bonet, farmworker.
