AIDS in the Balearics

The level of incidence for AIDS in the Balearics is, in relative terms, the highest in Spain, before Madrid, the Basque Country and Catalunya. However, the Councillor for Health has registered that the illness is tending to decrease since 1996.

The magazine Salut i Força publishes in its latest edition a full article about the present AIDS situation on the Islands and about the future Register of Seropositives approved by the Balearic Government within the new Autonomic Plan against AIDS, that should start to work at the end of 2001.
