Country Fair in Alaior

Friesian Cow Contest and Food show.

On March 18 and 19, at the La Trotxa industrial estate in Alaior, the 20th "Fira del Camp" (Country Fair) will take place, organised by the Alaior Town Council. The fair is an important meeting for the rural sector and includes two parts: firstly the Friesian Cow Contest, organised by the Asociación Frisona Balear, with the participation of some hundred cows from Menorcan farms, and secondly the fair, including some sixty stands that will sell honey, sausages, hazelnuts, liquors, machinery and all kinds of farming goods.

As usual, the first day begins very early in the morning with the reception and documentation of animals, and with the evaluations that continue throughout the day. The second day, Sunday, is more festive and includes the celebration of the contest, exhibitions and the prize giving ceremony.
