Fornells and the limits of sea tourism

The dock project in Fornells presents serious environmental impacts.

According to the GOB, the project for the construction of a dock that a private society wants to promote in Fornells does not conform to the current environmental legislation. The environmental association thinks that the development of the project would generate serious environmental impacts as it would affect the fields of posidonia that are considered to be priority habitat by the European legislation.

The GOB affirms it is necessary and urgent to decide which is the limit of moorings that the island should have, after discussing about the desired tourist model for the future.
