The "Mercat de Nit" in Alaior, promoted by the
Town
Council, has been working since the end of June. Every Wednesday, until
September 3, the artisan products will occupy the streets Major and Forn
offering tourists and residents alike, a select and varied range of objects
in ceramic, leather, cotton, silver... Live demonstrations and different
workshops complement the fair, that takes place between 7 and 11 p.m. approx.
Another important activity that can be carried out this summer in Alaior
is the visit to the exhibition "De Pedra" organised by the
Centre
d'Estudis Locals, in the Sant Diego cultural centre, until October
17. The exhibition offers an educational trip about the world of stone,
from the geological, ethnological and artistic points of view, stressing
the importance of this element along the history of the Island.
The exhibition can be visited every day, except Mondays, from Wednesday
to Friday morning and afternoon (10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.). Tuesdays
and Sundays only in the evening and on Saturdays only in the morning.
