The calendar of summer fiestas continues its course. Once finished
the fiestas of
Ciutadella
and of
Es
Mercadal, this week the horses reach Es Castell, as you can see in
this
piece of news, and they also reach Fornells, with the fiestas for Sant
Antoni.
The fiestas for Sant Antoni in Fornells began on July 16 with the opening
of an art exhibition by Antoni Gomila Tortosa, but most of the activities
will take place during the weekend.
On Saturday 26, following the official protocol, the traditional events
will begin at 4.30 p.m. with a street parade by the music band of Es Migjorn
Gran and the grouping of the "qualcada" (grupo of horse riders). At 7 p.m.,
there will be a mass in the parish church and the awaited "Jaleo" will
begin in the square. The day will end with a refreshment for the "Caixers"
(horse riders) and with an open dance animated by the music groups
Trio
Oasis and Feeling.
The day after, Sunday 27, the events will begin at 9 a.m. with the "Diana
Florejada" and, following the same order as the day before, the "qualcada",
the mass and the "jaleo" will take place. At night there will be a concert
by the groups
Xaloc
and
Arjau and a dance
with music by Trio Oasis and Feeling.
The fiestas will continue until Monday 28, with regattas, children's
games, a sea-firework display and music by Polaris and Feeling.

full
programme is available in PDF format.
