The Casa de Cultura in Ciutadella will hold on Fridays in February,
at 8 p.m. four conferences, part of the cycle "Història Natural
de Menorca", organised by the
Institut
Menorquí d'Estudis and the
Ayuntamiento
de Ciutadella, with collaboration from the
Cercle
Artístic de Ciutadella.
The first, on Friday 7, will deal with the dynamics and vegetation of
the beaches of Menorca given by José A. Martín Prieto (Balears
Litoral. Universitat de les Illes Balears) and Pere Fraga i Arguimbau (Consell
Insular de Menorca).
Sport fishing on Menorca, its social importance and the impact on the
fish will be the questions analysed in the following talk, on Friday 14,
with the participation by Lluís Cardona Pasqual (International
University Study Center. Universitat de Barcelona) and Josep Coll i Montserrat
(Direcció General de Pesca. Govern de les Illes Balears).
On Friday 21, Mikel Zabala Limousin (Universitat de Barcelona) and Christian
Ruiz Altaba (Conselleria de Medi Ambient. Govern de les Illes Balears)
will talk about the impact of human activity on marine invertebrates.
And the last Friday of the month, 28th, will be dedicated to vertebrate
fossils of the remains at punta Nati, by Josep Quintana Cardona (Institut
Crusafont de Paleontologia) and Josep Antoni Alcover (Universitat de les
Illes Balears).
