Eroticism in contemporary art

The municipal exhibition hall of El Roser, situated in the old church of El Roser in Ciutadella (XVIII Century), will hold from October 4 to 26 the itinerant exhibition "L'erotisme a la plàstica contemporània de les Illes Balears".

Eroticism, as a physical exaltation of love, is an inseparable concept of life, and therefore of art. In all eras we find erotic art with a high doses of genius and creativity.

This exhibition, with Joan Carles Gomis as the commissioner, presents a notably erotic production, almost unknown, by a numerous group of contemporary plastic artists of the Balearics, amongst others: Rafael Amengual, Miquel Barceló, Joan Bennàssar, Tomeu Cabot, Bernardí Roig, Guillem Nadal, Joan March, Maria Carbonero, Miquel Brunet, Pere Bennàssar, Antoni Socias, Jaume Canet, Toni Catany, Llorenç Ginard, Miguel Czernikowski, Frédéric Barzilay, Menéndez Rojas, Roca Fuster, Maties Quetglas, Pepe Nebot and Mati Klarwein.
