The Maó Town Council starts its web

The new page of the Maó Town Council is working. Everything is new in the page, including the address, which has changed to www.ajmao.org. The old URL (www.mao-menorca.net), that until recently led to the institutional web page (and is still listed on directories such as DMOZ and Yahoo!), no longer belongs to the Town Council and unfortunately has passed into the hands of a firm that produces pornographic content.

Forgetting this anecdote, the Maó Town Council is fortunate as its new web is very complete and functional. It is structured in four blocks: City, Town Hall, Tourism and Calendar, and offers wide information about the geography and history of the city and about the cultural, environment, social, health, educational, and sports resources of the municipality. It also includes the most important details about the Council (the council, organic structure, rules...), a tourist guide and a programme of events.

In words of the mayor, Arturo Bagur Mercadal, the objective of the page is "to open a path of knowledge about what we are as a town and what the city offers all those who are interested in visiting us."
