The "Mercat de Nit" in Alaior, promoted by the
Town
Council, has been working since the end of June. Every Wednesday, until
August 28, the artisan products will occupy the streets Carrer Major, del
Forn and Sa Plaça in Alaior offering tourists and residents alike,
a select and varied range of objects in ceramic, leather, cotton, silver...
Live performances and different workshops complement the fair, that
takes place between 7 and 11 p.m. approx.
Another important activity that can be carried out this summer in Alaior
is the visit to the exhibition "Forgotten Trades" that is being held in
the Centre de Cultura de Sant Diego. The ethnological exhibition will remain
open until September 30, and offers an educational trip round some twenty
traditional trades that have or have almost disappeared. The exhibition
can be visited every day, except Mondays, from Wednesday to Friday morning
and afternoon (10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.), Tuesdays and Saturdays
only in the morning and Sundays only in the evening.
