On Friday, June 7, in
Ciutadella
two exhibitions dedicated to the fiestas of
Sant
Joan will open. The first, "7 de Sant Joan", will open at 7 p.m. in
the Sa Nostra Cultural Hall and can be visited until June 22. This
exhibition will give a vision of the fiestas of Sant Joan with the public
as the protagonists, via photographs by 7 Menorcan artists or residents
on the Island: Lluís Bertran,
Enric
Servera, Pere Moscoso, Joan Bagur, Cisco Moll, Antoni Calafat and Joan
Capó.
The second exhibition, "Imatges de Sant Joan", will be opened the same
day, June 7, at 8.30 p.m. at the Palau Saura and will be on until June
29. This exhibition will show the works that were presented for the
Poster for Sant Joan 2002 contest, the traditional "carotes" that the "caixers
senyors" have given to the Town Hall over the years, ancient lances that
are no longer in use and other objects relating to the Fiestas de Sant
Joan. As a novelty, this year the exhibition will include an area
dedicated to the children of the city who this year will enjoy the fiestas
of San Joan for the first time. The area is formed of photographs of the
children who are still not one year old, supplied by parents who wish to
participate in the exhibition.
