The traditional music group
S'Albaida
has just recorded a new CD that will come on sale in April called "Mateixos
temps". With this second record, after "Llucalquelba", the band continues
its outstanding career with the recovery of folklore and the tradition
of popular Menorcan music.
The new record has the collaboration of musicians such as Cris Juanico,
from
Ja T'ho Diré, Adolfo
Osta, singer composer resident in Barcelona, and Pep Toni Rubio, of the
groups
Música Nostra and
Mesclat,
amongst others. It was recorded in the studios of Música Nostra
in Palma, with Toni Pastor as the recording technician, and mixed and masterised
at the Swing studio in Palma, with Mateu Picornell as the engineer. The
graphic design is by Biel Mercadal, well known Menorcan artist, and the
edition is by
Blau.
The CD includes a prologue by Antoni Deig, previous bishop of Menorca
and of Solsona; and texts by such poets as Ponç Pons or Àngel
Ruiz, amongst the words of the songs.
