The
Orquestra
de Cambra "Illa de Menorca" will visit Mallorca this weekend to offer
two concerts: one at the
Sa Nostra,
Cultural Centre on Friday 23 at 8 p.m., and the other one at the
Teatre
d'Artà, on Saturday 24 at 9.30 p.m. They will interpret
works by Jannacek, Mozart and Falla.
The Orquestra de Cambra "Illa de Menorca", formed in 1998 by Joventuts
Musicals de Maó, groups the Menorcan musicians, living or not on
the island. Up to date the orchestra has realised eleven "stages" that
have produced twenty concerts: nine in Maó, six in Ciutadella, two
in Alaior, one in Ferreries and one in Son Servera.
Thanks to the technical and interpretative quality of the musicians
and to the baton of the conductor, Fernando Marina, the Orquestra de Cambra
"Illa de Menorca" has become the first stable orchestral group on Menorca.
